About
A little about me.
I am a retired Canadian Forces Officer and now full time internet geek. Aside from my online past times, I love to travel. In the past 8 years I have been to most countries in Europe and Central America (not to mention all of Canada and most of the United States). I am interested ways to help eliminate poverty, reducing the digital divide and alternative energy solutions for the 3rd world.
My main focus is on literacy as literacy is the cornerstone (in my opinion) to any advancement in the third world. My main focus is on Nicaragua where fifty percent of the population is under 18 and schooling is a distant second to getting enough money to provide food and clothing for the majority of children.
I also sponsor children with “The Plan” for kids in El Salvador and Honduras. I am also sponsoring a child with Fabretto Childrens Foundation whose stated mission is to “change the lives of Nicaragua’s children for the better”.
I am also heavily involved with Kiva.org and also provide technical help and advice to several different Nicaraguan NGOs.
