Well, after a lot of delaying and avoiding I have finally got my new blog up and running here on it’s own domain (http://www.theramblingcanuck.com). I will be leaving my old blog online here but it will not be updated any more. This is my new home.

The reasons behind moving are varied but I was getting tired of not having total control over my blog on Blogspot. Wordpress allows me to completely manage the look and feel of the site thru themes, have little add-ons such as the photo widget on the right hand side to show off my latest photo, keep better track of my posts and which posts show the most interest to you the reader, the lack of the ability to add new pages to the site rather than just posts, better navigation in wordpress, the lack of my won domain name. By having my own domain, I am not tied to any platform or hosting options. I can move the site anywhere that I like when I like.

To sum it up, flexibility and presentation are the two important features of any blog and wordpress is the only blogging solution that proides these features easily and quickly.
